NO WORRYING ALLOWED DENNY SMITH

“Let not your heart be troubled” (John 14:1). I hope you know that when you read those words, God Himself is saying: “Hey you (insert your name here)- do not allow yourself to worry about anything!” I know the Bible says; “All sin” and “all come short” (see Romans 3:23)- but it means exactly what it says. Hebrews 11:6 says “without faith it is impossible to please God.” In my opinion, the most important question you can ask yourself is the one Jesus asked: “Dost thou believe on the Son of God?”(John 9:35). Many say they “believe” but Jesus said; “You will know them by their fruits” -outward, visible actions (Matthew 7:20). To “believe” means to trust in, rely upon, adhere to instructions, to have faith in a person or thing. My definition of “faith” is “believing and receiving everything God reveals in the Scriptures.” If you “believe” on the Son of God, you trust in Him. You rely upon Him for everything. You adhere to His teachings, doing what He says, not just hearing it. You believe, and receive everything He reveals to you as you read the Bible.
Have you ever really “seen” God do anything? Has He ever answered any of your prayers, or performed a deed you just know had to be Him? If so, you should know that you can trust Him. God is faithful. Everything that happens in life is either “caused” by Him, or “allowed” by Him. The bottom line is His will is going to be done- God is in control. If He is in control it is a downright impertinence to allow yourself to worry. Some people think they are more spiritual, or more observant, or meticulous, or something positive when they worry about little details they think others are overlooking, but in reality they are showing that they have little faith. It is not negative to refuse to worry. It is being obedient to the Lord. The apostle Paul said; “Be anxious (careful) for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God” (Philippians 4:6). The Living Bible Paraphrase of that verse says; “Don’t worry about anything- pray about everything.” Some say “that’s living in a fool’s paradise,” but I believe it is entering into what Jesus has available to us: “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you, not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14:27). Keep it simple. Just don’t give in to the temptation to worry for any reason. No worrying allowed.
